Beauty Favourites August 2013

These are my favourite beauty products that I liked the most in the month of August!

Starting off with 2 shower products...

I have done my grocery shopping online and originally wanted some shower gel, but I must have made a mistake and received the Nivea in-shower body lotion! Haha :) Which turned out to be very handy, you simply apply the cream lotion onto the wet skin and rinse it off with water afterwards - that´s it. This is a huge time saver for me, especially on working week days! :) The only little down side for me at least is, that the skin on my legs is very dry and I probably need a little bit more as a lotion. Therefore I will definitively try out the Nivea in-shower body milk next time!

Then I loved the Nivea frangipani & oil shower gel it´s also one of my all time favourite products! I simply love the smell - so flowery and fresh! It just picks me up in the morning!

The Clinique moisture surge extended thirst relief has been given to me as a gift at the Clinique counter when I bought some other products. This is an extended moisturizing care that can be used as a mask i.e. for 5 / 10 minutes or even overnight. I tried this out but was a little bit disappointed because my skin didn´t react very well - it was too much! But when I recognized that I got much more dry skin under the eyes, now as autumn begins, I used it only in this area and the product turned out perfect! I see that I have less lines from dryness!

This clear Nivea Turbo color dry in 45 sec. nail polish surprised me this month! I used it after I had removed my coloured nail polish just for caring reasons. Because usually my nails get very chippy and cranky afterwards. But whith applying this nail polish I reckoned that my nails stopped chipping which is great! They also grow so good and strong now. :) 

My mostly worn and beloved eye products in August are...
the Clinique high impact mascara which I have gotten as a present at the counter. I must say it really surprised me! I am very picky when it comes to mascara, but this one has a nice brush and texture. It separates my lashes perfectly and is very dark / very black probably highly pigmented... I guess you know what I mean :) I don´t need to apply many layers. The only down side for me is that it is not waterproof and when it comes to mascara I always prefer the waterproof version due to my long lashes!

The MAC naked lunch eye shadow has also been a favourite this month. It´s a nude cream tone with some shimmer and I mainly wore it over my complete eyelid as a one colored tone.

And my new favourite eye liner is the Maybelline master precise eye liner. This has quite a thin felt pen tip and applies so easily and softly, it is not smudging at all and dries right away. I L-O-V-E it!!!

This month I have had 3 favourite lip products!

First of all I was searching for a good lip care, because my lips chipped a little bit. I do know this from changing weather into autumn or winter, but not this early in the year like end of July, beginning of August. So I went to the pharmacy and got the Bepanthol lip cream which is amazing! I am using a tiny amount morning and night and now my lips are smooth and soft again throughout the whole day. :)

In terms of lipstick I preferred the Estée Lauder secret kiss lipstick which is a sheer shimmering rose tone. I love this tone for my pale lips!

And I am still in love with the Clinique runway coral longlasting lipstick! The colour is so cool! :) Especially now as it´s turning to autumn already and it´s more grey and cloudy outside this lipstick is just the right colour flash!! :)


So these were my beauty favourites of August. Actually quite an amount of products but I was so happy about all these that I didn´t want to let one fall behind. I hope that you enjoyed this blog post and that I may have inspired you! ;)

quick and easy make up look for everyday

Generally I like wearing make up that appears natural to me but sometimes I add a little splash of color, maybe matching my outfit or whatever...

I just wanted to show a quick and easy option for a fast everyday make up that I am wearing a lot, varying with eye, lip and rouge colors.

As a base I am using the Clinique BB Cream and apply my concealer by Estée Lauder under the eyes. Then I add 1-2 layers of Mary Kay´s mineral powder, some rose colored rouge by MAC and countour my face (chin to ears) with the lightest shade of Terra del sol bronzer and I also add a little bit on my chin and nose to make it look sun tanned ;)

 

This time I applied a plum colored eye liner by Estée Lauder directly under the lower water line and colored the inner water lines with my stila eye liner in the color stayring. My brows are as always painted with the artist´s brow pencil by Estée Lauder - which is one of my all time favourite products!

 

This time I chose a lip gloss from chanel in a rose to lilac shade and 2 layers of L'Oreal´s architect lash mascara in deep black which is also waterproof.

 

 

For my eye lids I used the NYX palette which is amazing! It´s the first one I own and it includes all these colors that I love the most for my brown eyes. This time I chose the lightest shimmering rosa tone (down right) for under the eyebrow and the color beside it for the eye lid. For the crease I took the lilac tone (2nd from down left).

(why does my nose appear so big??? haha)

 

I know the lightning is not ideal, sorry for that! But what do you think? Would you also wear it?

blush!

Recently I ordered the NARS blush in the color orgasm for the first time and it is absolutely georgeous! :)

It is a peachy rosy tone with golden shimmering particles. It fits very well into my pallet of blushes.
In former times it never appeared any important to me, if I used different colors of blush or not. I basically had one color that I went with until it was empty. I used to go with the MAC cubic satin which is a rose tone and I thought it suits my skin type and color best. I have pale skin with an olive undertone. However, one day I discovered the Artdeco bronzing glow blusher and I liked the color and pattern so much and as it has a big rose toned department I decided to try another shade for once! This was winner! It made me more open to experiment with new color combinations! :)
 

And this is the result... here you can see my blush collection so far and how I would describe them on my skin! 

From left to right:
NARS orgasm - a more peachy-pinky tone with golden shimmer
MAC cubic satin - a rose with a slight natural brownish undertone
ARTDECO bronzing glow blusher - a more pinky-peachy tone with slight bronzing shimmer
Mary Kay sunny spice - a very decent, natural brownish tone
Terra del Sol sand - bronzer without shimmer

I am very happy that I have a small variety to choose from, but I also think these colors are enough, as I tend to seek for nudish or more decent make up looks! For the time being the NARS orgasm is defo my favourite! :)
