Beauty haul 12/13

Hello guys!

It´s been a while since my last post. The December has been unexpectedly stressful to me. Although I am a person that likes to be well prepared, especially when it comes to christmas presents, I didn´t get that managed very well this year I have to admit! ;) Simply too much going on and the fact that I was extremely tired the whole month!
But hey, here comes a nice new beauty haul post today!

Just for a change I took the John Frieda brilliant brunette color-revealing hair set containing a hydrating shampoo and conditioner. Of course I also took 2 packages of the matching hair mask! Which will last me for 4 times and I have shoulder length hair at the moment. These products smell amazing!! ...and they give a nice shine to my hair as well.

Now during the cold winter months I like taking baths to warm me up and to relax after a long day. One of my favorite ingredients for baths is lavender, because I like the smell and it is calming me down. So this time I chose the Kneipp bath crystals 'dreams of the provence' with pure lavender and also from Kneipp bath crystals 'love fairy tale' which has aside from lavender also wild roses in it. I am looking so forward to use these! :)

Lately I have been really bad at using body lotion. :( This may relate to the fact that it´s so cold now and I want to get dressed quickly after showering!! So, hopefully my new body lotion by L'Oréal the sublime body nutri soft for very dry skin will change this :) it actually says hydrating milk on it but it feels more like a lotion when I apply it and it has a wonderful smell.

Totally fell in love with this bronze-golden eye shadow by Maybelline! The color is called 710 blazing brown and I plan to try this tone as a mono eyeshadow with super black lashes and full red lips!

Discovered a new face mask brand called salthouse luxury. There are 4 different masks all with sea salt minerals from the Dead Sea. As the picture is really bad here comes what they contain.
The pink one is with cashmere and avocado for silky and smooth skin.
The green one contains cucumber and aloe vera for a fresh and firm skin feeling.
The blue one has alga and allantoin in it for a deep cleaned skin and fine pores.
And last but not least the white mask is with pearl extracts and amino acid for firmness and a radiant skin.

Honestly I think I am going to inhale all of them right away! ;) I feel my skin needs a little bit extra treatment in this month!

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and wish all of you a nice weekend and a wonderful 4th of advent!

xmas home decor

Happy first Advent 2013 to all of you! :) I am really enjoying this time of the year. It´s so cosy at home and outside everything is prettily lighted up! And I also looove the christmas markets! I don´t know but the last month of the year is making me calm down. I just think it´s so much fun to decorate the home, cook the food I only cook once a year, baking and putting loads of candles on! :)

Here I would like to show you what I have decorated at home so far. Actually most of the decoration is in our living room at the moment, so I am showing you my little xmas corners!

My advent 'wreath' for this year that I have created and done by myself. Sometimes I like it just simple and close to nature. So that is what I preferred this year.

A sparkling reindeer, some big nuts and a lighted tree & a Santa Clause by the doors.

Another self made candle holding idea and our this year´s advent calendar from the local lottery! We want to try our luck this year ;)

Cosy pillow and plaid, a yankee candle 'snow in love' which smells super delicate and my advent tea calendar that I got from a friend! :)

Cute tree with candles on the window sill

This was our small and simple coffee table for today´s advent coffee. We had tea and banana bread that I baked this morning.

And I totally adore the Villeroy & Boch christmas tableware! Isn´t it so cute?

I hope you all had a nice and cosy 1st Advent! <3

healthy spinach lasagne with salmon WIAW

And again I am coming up with a food post! I hope you enjoy - this time I had a super yummy lasagne with spinach and salmon!

If you want to try this you just need to follow my recipe here:

  • cut 2 onions into small cubes
  • heat 1 table spoon of vegetable oil in a pan
  • add onions together with 400gr. of spinach (unfrozen is fine) and let steam for 5 minutes
  • in the meantime cut 160gr. of fresh smoked salmon slices into small squares
  • then add 300ml of vegetable brooth into the pan
  • open and add a tin of chunky tomatoes (400gr.) and the salmon into the pan
  • add salt, pepper and thyme
  • pre-heat the oven to 200°degrees celsius
  • prepare 400gr. of low fat cream cheese (buko/philadelphia) in a bowl and stirr together with 1 table spoon dill, a pinch salt & pepper, 1 tea spoon of lemon juice and a bit muscat
  • now start shifting into a gratin dish (21x32cm) start with spinach mass, then lasagne sheets (you´ll need 12 in total) and then the cheese mass. repeat 3 times.
  • add low fat grating cheese as much as you like (I had 150gr.)
  • put it in the oven for 25 minutes

It´s a little bit time consuming but it is so worth it! Spinach has a lot of good vitamins and minerals, also the salmon contains folate and omega-3 oils which are good for your heart and organs!

Did you like my recipe? Let me know if you want to try out! ;)

healthy broccoli soup WIAW

Here is my what I ate Wednesday!
Today I would like to share a recipe of a really easy and delicious broccoli soup.

The cooking is so simple and goes really quick. Here it goes for 2 persons as a dish or as a starter for 4 persons:

Put 500gr of broccoli in a pot, also deep-frozen broccoli is fine!
Add 300ml of freshly brewed vegetable broth and let it cook for 8mins.
To flavor use salt, white pepper and a bit of muscat.
Now puree everything to a fine soup with an immersion blender and finally stirr in 4 table spoons of crème fraîche. Et voilá!

As you can see I added some coûtons to my soup, as a change I would probably choose a whole grain roll for the next time and/or replace half the broccoli with spinach!

This dish is super healthy as broccoli and spinach contain a lot of calcium, iron and B-vitamins! Hope you enjoy experimenting, bon apétit! :)

Beauty Favourites October 2013

This month I am again a little bit late with my beauty favourite post which relates to the fact that we were on a weekend trip over the first days of this month! However, here it goes now with my favorite products of October!

black up Paris eye liner pencil
I bought this product way back in France when I was working there. I kind of rediscovered it after my beloved stila eye liner went empty very fast :( The eye liner is soft at application, it doesn´t smear or smudge and stays in it´s place for a long time. I do also really like the natural looking, the wooden kind of 'pencil'. And because it´s so long it holds for years ;) definitvely a plus!

Clinique self sun face tinted lotion
I had slight issues with the self sun by Clinique because there are 2 different ones. The tint gel is a wash-off self tanner which I grabbed by accident and intended to use up til the end. But as the packing was still almost completely full I thought this makes no sense and ask at my local Clinique counter for help. They replaced the product right away with the face tinted lotion which is supposed to soak in and leave a tan for 1-3 days. Right after applying the slightly tinted lotion my skin is already tanned and I love it! I am using it constantly now every 2-3 days. The tan itself is a very warm nice tone and just gives me a little more comfort on my pale skin during winter time in a healthy way.

John Frieda brilliant brunette hair mask
After a walk at the windy sea I thought I would do something good for my hair to smoothen it again. With the brilliant brunette my hair also was super shiny, smooth, straight and nourish and I have totally forgotten how lovely the brilliant brunette products smell!! :)

Glynt hydro vitamin cleansing shampoo
Once a week I am using a cleansing shampoo to get removed all rests from other products properly out of my hair. I really like that I can do kind of a re-start with all the products on my hair every week. Especially as my hair is fine and not too dry so any too much of a product would make it grease again after 1 day already. So the Glynt cleansing shampoo with a cleansing factor of 8 out of 10 is perfect for me!

weekend trip to Westerland

Over the last weekend and my birthday, my hubby and I went to our favourite german island - Sylt! We just love the nordic chic and the beautiful landscape there! Here are some pictures of our 4 days trip.

sunset at Westerland beach

 our lovely appartment

 exhibiton nature violence in List

fish filet at Gosch Fischhaus restaurant in List

 little running beach birdies

 me at windy Westerland beach

sea gulls in the sun

relaxing area in our appartment

rough see at Weststrand

our last walk at the beach

 thinking good bye ;)

I love holidays at the sea side as this just calms me down and relaxes me so much! I really like being surrounded by beautiful landscape. And we loved the interior of the appartment we rented in Westerland, the beach house style was so inspiring. I pinned some more photos at my Pinterest wall (saniwegner). Also it was a very adequate way to turn one year older, now as I am over 30 it doesn´t hurt so much doing it that way... ;)

Do you also like holidays at the sea side? What´s your favourite place?

Hamburg city shopping haul 10/13

Hello!!

I am finally back with a post and video! I have managed to order a spotlight for a better lightning of my videos. Actually got a pretty cool set which includes a soft box, a bulb, and a stand for the lamp, oh yes and a bag! All together was only 35€ which is a very good price compared to other offers on the web. And as I only want it for my small-ish videos, this will totally do it! :) If you are about to look for a spotlight you may be interested to see the set I got here.

When I went shopping last time round I wanted to visit a certain shop - Massimo Dutti. The store at Neuer Wall, Hamburg is so epic! It´s like shopping in a living room and everything is very mondaine! Can totally recommend to check that store out. I got two shirts there, the first one is a navy blue and white stripy and loose fit shirt with a round neck. The stripes come round like until over the shoulder which looks very cute! It´s cotton and I chose size M, it was 30€.

The second shirt is a plain white loose fit shirt with a v-neck and a small pocket in front that carries a golden Massimo Dutti label which I think looks very cool! The sleeves are about 3/4 length and the fabric is very light and see through which I like and want to combine in layering looks. This is also size M and was 25€.

Next thing that I bought was actually on my wish list and is from The Pashmina Store. I chose a beautiful light pink scarf that is handmade in Nepal from 70% cashmere and 30% silk. It is very wide and falls big and fluffy what I like a lot! It feels super soft and I am so happy that I have such a fine and high quality scarf in my collection now! :) The scarf was 100€ quite an investment - but so worth it!

Last thing that I got was a self sun from Clinique. This is a very dark face bronzing gel tint. On one side I think it´s a good product because your skin looks tanned right after applying it. However, what I personally don´t like is that it has to soak in and mustn´t be touched at all for 10-15 minutes and it washes off in the evening. I would have preferred that the tanning effect stays for some more days so that I would only have to repeat maybe every 3 days. Nevertheless I will use this up. It costs 20€.

May be I got something wrong with self sun and self tan here? I don´t know.. so I will be thankful if you may bring in some light! :)

You can also see my video here, where I try to speak English and also have forgotten to mention half of the information above, haha! ;) Hope you enjoy anyway!

décolleté cream

I was looking for so long to find a décolleté cream. Considering the fact that I got the first wrinkles I decided that I would need to extend all the creaming and caring of my face to the neck and décolleté. Particularly as I am a side sleeper which makes my front part look very creased in the mornings! ;(

I didn´t want to use my regular face creams instead I rather wanted to find something that has been designed especially for the skin of a décolleté. In search of the matching product I had to learn that there a not much products out there that are NOT super-mega-expensive!

So I opted with the hand and décolleté cream from Mary Kay.

The packing is not too small and contains 85g which is a good size for this type of cream as I am using a good amount of it every day. :) The cream itself is a bit thicker in consistence but lets itself spread very nicely onto the neck and décolleté. It leaves a nice feeling and my skin feels nourished the whole day. The cream has sun protection factor 15 which is also very important for the décolleté skin because I usually have a cleavage, either a smaller one or a little bigger one, but the sun can always reach me there!

I am true to this product for a least 2 years now and I am totally content! My décolleté skin looks smoother and the cream is also affordable! :)

In case you are interested you can find it here.

Beauty Favourites September 2013

This month I have only a few beauty products. Some have already been mentioned before but when I have found something really good I usually stay with it. So, here are my september beauty favorites :)

The Aussie color mate shampoo and conditioner have been very good for my hair. I like the smell of peaches and the smooth texture of the shampoo. It makes my hair soft and shiny. I used the conditioner every time I wash my hair (except for once a week when I am doing a hair mask). I think my hair looks and feels well-groomed.

Again the maybelline master precise eyeliner was one of my favourites this month. I like the easy appliance with the soft felt pen tip and the deep black color!

Also the BB cream from Clinique is a product that I do appreciate! Especially now after that I have tested the Olaz essential BB cream I have definitely learned that the BB cream from Clinique is my product!! It covers well and has SPF as well as anti-aging effects. As the packaging is already empty I couldn´t take a picture but here is a link.

The Bepanthol lipcreme is such a good product! I am using this for a longer period of time now and am still so happy!! I am using this twice a day, morning and night time. In the mornings directly under my lipstick or lipgloss or whatever, it soaks in very quickly. My lips are simply healthy and don´t chip anymore. So this will probably be a favourite of mine for all next months! ;)

My new intensive hand cream from dalan d'Olive that I bought during my holiday is absolutely georgous! It is with olive oil and covers the skin very nicely and soaks in after a short while. This is actually a concentrate and is really inexpensive!

What are your beauty favourites this month? If you are interested you can also see my video here.

I wish you all a nice and cosy weekend!

OOTD

The sun came out again this weekend and it was so nice to spend warm days outside. Today shops were opened and my hubby and I made a visit to the designer outlet in Neumünster - our favourite one! ;) Here is what I wore.

beige pants - closed
olive green t-shirt - Marc'o Polo
jeans jacket - GAP
green leoprint scarf - H&M
goldish ballerinas - Tamaris
black leather bag - Michael Kors
waterfall jewellery - Jette Joop

I picked only one piece today so I thought I would show it real quick. It´s again a pant from stefanel! I just like the way they are cut, they have a straight leg, super soft and nice fabric and the pockets are exactly at the right place to make a nice bum! :) Today I chose the color camel and I am looking forward to combine it with my autumn outfits!

Hope you are also enjoying the sunny weather on this weekend!
